Disintegrating planets extremely close to their stars could be the cause of mysterious bursts of cosmic radio waves. Fast millisecond-long radio bursts, or FRBs for short, come from distant cosmic regions. Some of these explosions only fire once, and others repeat over and over. The repetitive explosions may be coming from planets that dance hard with their stars, according to a new computer calculation by the researchers.
