Mysterious Incident at Xinhua Gate of Zhongnanhai Sparks Speculation and Controversy

On March 10, a video of someone “driving into the Xinhua Gate of Zhongnanhai late at night” went viral on the overseas social platform X. (Video screenshot)

[The Epoch Times, March 10, 2024](Epoch Times reporter Luo Ya interviewed and reported) On March 10, on the overseas social platform Hot discussion. Beijing media people believe that the car involved is not a foreign vehicle, and the owner is definitely not an ordinary person. It is currently impossible to determine the specific time when the video was taken and the cause of the incident.

Former mainland media person Zhao Lanjian posted: In the early morning of March 10, 2024, in Beijing, where representatives of the two sessions were sleeping, the streets were filled with armed police and special police. The whole of Beijing is heavily guarded. Even so, a lone warrior drove towards Xinhua Gate with his foot on the accelerator. Unfortunately, the threshold of Xinhua Gate was too high. Dozens of “eunuchs” (security guards) rushed out and gathered around to arrest the lone warrior.

The video shows a black car driving in front of Xinhua Gate in Zhongnanhai. A group of security personnel controlled the driver and carried him away.

Yu Feng© (@realYuFeng), a certified user on the X platform, also posted: Sudden! The hero commits suicide and attacks Zhongnanhai!

In the early morning of March 10, during the two sessions, security was tight, and the streets were filled with black dog police officers. Suddenly, a lone brave man drove himself to the Xinhua Gate in Zhongnanhai! Intended to smash that bullshit fake slogan “Serve the People”, dozens of eunuchs (security guards) were knocked away, and then they were carried away by black men and military police.

Netizen “Touchstone (@jcweb11)” posted that a black car failed to crash into Xinhua Gate during the two sessions.

On March 10, a Beijing media person told The Epoch Times that the location where the incident occurred was near Xinhua Gate in Zhongnanhai. After entering the gate was a screen that said “Serve the People”. Further ahead was an artificial lake surrounded by artificial lakes on the left and right. The channel of Huxiu is one kilometer away from where Xi Jinping’s office is located. But he was unsure of the exact time the incident occurred.

He said that there are at least three things that can be determined. First, the car involved is not a foreign vehicle, but must be a local Beijing-brand vehicle. Second, the car owner is definitely not an ordinary person. His car is a mid- to high-end car, and it should be and seems to be crash-resistant. Third, if the police go to investigate, it will be easy to find out who the owner of the car is.

He analyzed that at 10 seconds into the video, there was clearly a policeman holding a riot fork. The driver was still struggling when he was taken away. The riot fork stunned him and then dragged him away. Others went to check if anyone else was in the car, indicating that there was only one person involved.

He said that at 16 seconds into the video, the two men in coats should be from the Central Security Bureau. The people behind them were local policemen, and everyone in that area wore uniforms like this. They tried their best to drag the person involved away from the area in front of Xinhua Gate, and others rushed into Xinhua Gate.

He emphasized that the first-level security for the two sessions on March 12 should end. It feels like Beijing is not normal right now.

During the two sessions of the Communist Party of China this year, unprecedented security measures were implemented in Beijing, and the number of plainclothes people in front of Xinhua Gate in Zhongnanhai more than doubled. Police cars were stationed at every intersection on Chang’an Avenue.

Under such strict surveillance, the above-mentioned incident still occurred, triggering heated discussions among many netizens.

Zhao Lanjian responded to netizen LAZARUS’ comment that “you can rush in with a modified forklift” and said: It is extremely difficult. You can’t rush in, there is a high threshold and the wood is very strong. Wrapped in tin.

“Unicorn Eagle Eyes with Golden Eyes”: Push the hexagram on the back diagram, the warrior enters the imperial palace through the back door, and he doesn’t know when he will appear.

“Madou Media Official”: It is said that they stormed Xinhua Gate to vent their anger because they had no way to appeal for grievances.

An Epoch Times reporter called the Tiananmen Police Station on the afternoon of the 10th and asked to verify that someone drove a car into the Xinhua Gate of Zhongnanhai in the early morning of the 10th. The woman who answered the phone did not deny the incident on the spot, but just asked, “Who are you?”

The reporter further introduced that the matter was widely circulated on the Internet, and the video was widely circulated on social media, including WeChat.

The other party asked again: “Who are you?”

The reporter responded: “I am a media person. I am more concerned about this incident and want to verify it.”

The other party said: “Please pay attention to Ping An Beijing’s announcement.”

The reporter asked: “Have they issued a notice?”

The other party then hung up the phone directly.

As of the time of publication of The Epoch Times, no official announcement has been issued on this incident.
