An anti-tank mine was discovered on Saturday at noon in the sea near the beach of the village of Kariani near Kavala, Northern Greece, reported ANA-MPA.
The Greek coast guard said the mine was 25 meters from the shoreline at a depth of about 2 meters and was heavily corroded. The ammunition was on the rocky bottom near a fishing pier.
The Coast Guard has informed the Maritime Administration of Northern Greece to take the necessary actions.
The origin of the mine and how it ended up in the area is not known.
