Kottayam: The body of a lottery saleswoman who went missing from Valavoor near Palakkad two days ago was found naked in a deserted field. The body of Preeti (31), a native of Valavoor, was found around 2 pm on Sunday. Their friend Prakash (51), a lottery seller from Valavoor, was found hanging dead yesterday. The initial conclusion of the police is that Prakashan may have committed suicide after killing Preeti. According to the police, Preeti was friendly with Prakashan after her husband left her.
Preeti’s dead body, which had a shawl tied around its neck, had started to rot. An autopsy will be conducted at Kottayam Medical College on Monday. The police said that the cause of death can be confirmed only after receiving the report. Preeti has two children aged four and twelve. The police handed over the elder boy to the Child Welfare Committee. The younger child is with another relative.
