A mysterious accident puzzles the police in Paderborn. On Thursday night, two cars apparently gave each other a chase. There was still no trace of the inmates on Thursday. Only one of the vehicles stayed behind.
Was it an illegal car race or possibly an escape? The Paderborn police still had no clarity on Thursday. Late Wednesday evening at 11:15 p.m., a VW Golf from Recklinghausen and a Ford with a Polish license plate were noticed. Both vehicles had crashed into an accident site on the B64 federal road, where three cars had collided; Debris was scattered on the road, all three cars were totaled, police said, and one of the drivers was seriously injured.

A few minutes later, the Golf Cabriolet and the Ford suddenly crashed into the scene of the accident one after the other; the drivers swerved wildly around wreckage and crashed cars before driving on at full throttle, police said.

According to the police, the tour went downtown, witnesses reported. In a roundabout, the Ford would have rammed the Golf sideways. The Ford lost one of its number plates, and the Golf remained badly damaged a little later, the police reported. A car parked at the roundabout was also damaged. In addition, the right rear wheel of the Golf ripped off the axle in the accident.

“The occupants of the convertible fled on foot,” the police reported on Thursday. The Ford is wanted. The property damage is estimated at 10,000 euros. “There is no known damage to the Ford,” police said.
