” cThis is a topic that overwhelms me and often makes me angry. In an interview with Sunday newspaper (JDD)Mylène Farmer lifts the veil on the reasons that led her to name her new album – the first since 2018 – The flu. The pop icon explains that this theme “imposed itself” on her “outside of any news”, because it “overwhelms” her. “Of course I am very moved by the loneliness of the victims who, at best, only manage to make themselves heard after many years. I’m angry because the victims isolate themselves and close themselves up in spite of accepting what no human being should tolerate”, explains the singer for whom “the important thing is to identify it and try to fight this influence”.

In this interview, Mylène Farmer also reveals herself “stunned by this period in which we are witnessing the end of a world”. “A new world is looming, the contours of which are not well known. The only certainty is that the passage from one world to another risks being violent. It’s very scary,” she complains. She is so anxious that the singer confesses that he was “for a long time unable to write a single word”. “I was thinking of stopping everything. Then it happened all of a sudden. I was like the rising tide…,” she recalls.
