Mycoplasma Pneumoniae in Children: Data Collection and Monitoring in DKI Jakarta

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Service, Ani Ruspitawati, said that her party is currently collecting data on the number of children in the capital city who are infected mycoplasma pneumoniae.

This step was taken after the DKI Jakarta Health Office received reports regarding children infected with the bacteria.

“We in Jakarta are specifically (still) calculating that mycoplasma yes,” said Ani at the DKI Jakarta DPRD office on Monday (4/12/2023).

However, Ani was reluctant to explain details regarding data on infected children mycoplasma pneumonia.

It is said that the DKI Health Office will provide further information regarding the findings of children who have contracted the disease.

“Later we will make our own release. In accordance with the release from the Ministry of Health yesterday, there is indeed an increase in cases in China,” said Ani.

So far, the DKI Jakarta Health Office has recorded cases of acute respiratory infections (ARI) as an alert system.

“Just like during pollution, we also continue to report ISPA cases. Basically we just need to be alert,” said Ani.

The DKI Health Department is currently also monitoring and improving the reporting system real time to anticipate cases of pneumonia in children and adults in Jakarta.

Monitoring is carried out at community health centers and 194 hospitals to detect new diseases using laboratory tests.
