my radio: Film festival Kino Kosova in Bern

Kino Kosova is a film festival that will be showing films that have something to do with Kosovo and the diaspora from September 11 to 15. Its aim is to bring people from different cultures together through art and film and to reflect on important issues.

For five days, the Kino Kosova will be showing films from Kosovo and the diaspora in various cinemas in Bern that deal with topics such as abortion, war crimes, racism and gender roles. This year, the festival’s motto is “thinking” and invites the audience to reflect on important contemporary issues. “In the last few months, we have seen in the media and social media that many fronts have hardened. The Kino Kosova should be a place to pause and reflect, to be together in one place and to look for solutions as to how we want to live together and exchange ideas,” says media spokesperson Aleksandra Hiltmann.

In addition to the film screenings, there are discussions with filmmakers and the audience, which offer deeper insights into the stories and themes of the films. A special highlight is the exhibition of two artists from Kosovo, who will present their works as part of the festival in the program. (MM/neo1)
