According to the police, three pistols, a motorcycle, a video camera and the logo of a news channel were found lying at the spot. It is suspected that the three attackers came posing as media persons and carried out the incident. He also had his identity card hanging around his neck.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while ordering a high-level inquiry into the incident, has given instructions to set up a three-member inquiry commission. At the same time, after the incident, prohibitory orders under section 144 have been implemented in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh.
