There are a lot of cooking tricks that make life easier for many people, while many others don’t even know them. Whether it’s tips on how to easily peel garlic, tomatoes, almonds or ways to innovatively use kitchen helpers, learning a little never hurts.
How about garlic?
Immerse it in water for a quarter of an hour. Then take it out and remove the skin with a beer cap. It’s fast, easy, and you don’t have to use your nails.
And if you need very finely chopped garlic, but you don’t have a press to do it, put it in a resealable bag and beat it with a meat mallet.
Peel the tomatoes and almonds
Peeling tomatoes is a chore, but it’s also easy. Prick the tomato with a fork and brown it briefly on the gas stove. The peel will come off almost by itself.
Almonds also benefit from the heat. Just put them in the oven for a few minutes and then rub them gently between your fingers.
Slice eggs and apples
It is undoubtedly worth having it at home because of the eggs, but it can also be used in other ways. You can use it very well to cut, for example, mushrooms, strawberries or softer vegetables or cheese for salads.
Likewise, you can use an apple slicer much more often than you think. He can slice potatoes, which he then roast in the oven. The size of the pieces is approximately the same, which is only an advantage for the heat treatment, and their shape is like that of a restaurant.
Ice cubes
Maybe you have an ice maker sitting completely unnoticed in a cupboard at home. This is the end, because they can be used to the fullest. You can pour into it, for example, the broth that is left over. So always squeeze only as many pieces as you need and add them to the food you are currently cooking.
You can also freeze coffee, for example. This will create a caffeine-filled ice cube that you can throw into your drink on hot days. In addition to the more interesting taste, you will also be surprised by the energy that even a little frozen coffee will give you.
Homemade juicer
Would you like to squeeze the juice from oranges, tangerines or grapefruits, but are you missing a juicer, electric or at least the small plastic one? Absolutely no problem, just find a glass with a smaller diameter a little smaller than the fruit in question. Now cut the fruit in half and crush the glass upside down in the bowl. You will have great juice.
There are many tricks, you just have to find out. What’s your favorite?
