Alessandro D’amico, former tronista of Men and Women, is told to very true after the end of his adventure in the program and tells very intimate and painful moments of his life too. Alessandro admits to Silvia Toffanin that Maria De Filippi’s program left him a lot: «He gave me what my ex is, but I carry with me so many memories, so many connections with people».
The former tronista tells of his relationship with his mother who disappeared after falling ill in 2010. His coming out took place late, so he explains that he never confessed to her that he was gay: “My mom was my shield, my safe haven . I never told her I was gay, but I would have liked to have told her to have some advice, but then talking to my relatives I realized that deep down she knew it. If she had been alive and had known it, I’m sure she would have said to me “How beautiful you are, go ahead don’t think about anything” ».
The loss of her mother was a great void, which she was able to partially fill with a gesture made to her sister. He tells Silvia: «As a child, my sister had a motorcycle accident and lost her kidney. Over the years her condition worsened so I chose to give her my kidney. In her I see my mom, I wanted to do something for her and I did it in a second, without thinking too much about it. For me, a circle has come full circle ».
