This citizen message of address to all those who hold a portion of Public Power during this Transition!
Dear brothers and sisters,
You who are in business today and have the heavy responsibility of managing public power in the name of the sovereign people of Guinea, know that you have power over others, this power is the power of the moment, ensure that you want but in humility and strict respect for the laws by what tomorrow you do not know.
Certainly some people think that power confers a land title but they are wrong, because public power is the most precious asset of a People and it must be exercised in accordance with its deepest and most legitimate aspirations.
Dear brothers and sisters ;
Serve the community all the time, that’s just your mission.
The temptation to isolation is strong in the exercise of power; the temptation to deny your friends; the temptation to isolate yourself from the community. Above all, be careful not to lose your original principles and do not allow yourself to be betrayed.
Do not betray, do not deceive, do not cuckold your principles of life which have brought you to your respective responsibilities.
Accept contradiction, run away from informers, run away from those who never tell you the truth otherwise they will lead you into error.
Money does not corrupt, power does not corrupt and does not alienate, power and money make it possible to discover the true personality of man.
The times our country is going through are complex and decisive, every word counts, every action counts and history is stubborn.
The change in status has driven some people crazy, but let them know it’s a poisoned gift. Within a period of time, you can go from Hero to Zero. Be humble and modest.
To the new arrivals in the public administration, you are aware of your shortcomings and shortcomings, so stop the propaganda and work tirelessly to improve yourselves to make your services effective.
Know that Power is a time and if you think it is eternal, rest assured that it will end one day no matter how long it lasts.
When we have power, we are the strongest to crush any protest. But, when you are no longer in power, you are like someone who is under a tree and offers his head to the birds to collect their droppings. Think of the post-power period to remain a worthy man of power.
Guinea belongs to all of us. There is not a single Guinean who is worth more than another. Only we complement each other in our differences. So let’s listen, discuss and build this beautiful country with mutual respect.
Dear brothers and sisters ;
Let us always keep in mind that “Men” pass away and countries remain. Failing to build, let’s not deconstruct.
I end by paraphrasing Jacques Attali who says this: “The lessons of history teach that the summit is the closest point to the precipice”. And better, the ongoing trial of the events of September 28, 2009 is a great lesson in history.
My sincere wishes for full success to the Transition.
May God light our way and watch over our COMMON HOMELAND, GUINEA. Amine.
