Film photographer Halyna Hutchins (42) was declared dead in hospital after being hit by shot during the filming of the movie «Rust».
According to a police spokesman, it was actor Alec Baldwin, who is also the producer of the film, who fired the weapon.
For the first time since the incident, there is now a statement from the actor.
Two messages appeared on his Twitter account on Friday afternoon Norwegian time:
– There are no words that can describe my shock and my grief over the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and a deeply admired colleague, Baldwin writes on Twitter.
– I cooperate fully with the police investigation to find out how this tragic accident happened and I am in contact with her husband, and offer my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son and everyone who knew and loved Halyna.

Investigation underway
The incident took place during the filming of the movie “Rust” in Santa Fe, in the state of New Mexico in the USA.
Hutchins, who was quickly sent to hospital by helicopter, was pronounced dead on arrival.
The director of the film, Joel Souza, was also hit and sent to hospital for treatment. He has already been discharged, says one of the actors.
Police spokesman Juan Ríos has stated that the police are investigating whether the incident is an accident. No one has been charged in the case so far, and the investigation is open.

The film star was questioned as soon as he came to the small sheriff’s office, according to the newspaper Santa Fe New Mexican.
It is too early to determine what type of cartridges were used, according to police.
A spokesman for Baldwin has said that an accident occurred when he fired a prop weapon with loose cartridges. Investigators were on the film set Friday to gather evidence and information.
The production of “Rust” has been temporarily stopped as a result of the incident. The filming was originally scheduled to end in November.
