I would like this to be my last letter on this pitiful subject: my disability and the ramp I need. I live on Calle 9 de Julio 79 and I should drive myself for my activities with my motorized wheelchair but in my building they do not understand it and they want me to take my chair up in the elevator, then go down (with unevenness in the corridor) and do the same on the floor come down. Then go up to the exit floor (with unevenness) and finally lower the chair to go out to the street, and thus to return to my home. I can’t do it with my right arm, without a tendon due to breast cancer surgery, and I can’t do it with my left arm either, since a tendon was cut by using the walker. The building commission refuses to comply with national law 22,341, which talks about the construction of ramps. They came from the Municipality and gave an intimation to the construction of the same, the Valencia SRL administration company requested budgets and they presented them, for a year I have not been able to leave my house or to go to the doctors. I want to continue to be useful, I don’t want to stop seeing my grandparents from nursing homes, and the children to whom I bring clothes, food and books. I asked to keep my chair in a ground floor room but they decided not to lock it and that if it is stolen I will take care of it. Am I talking to people without hearts and brains? I hope this letter will be read by someone who has the power to solve this problem, which is only a lack of generosity and sensitivity on the part of the commission of this building.
