He doesn’t even come from a soccer family. “My uncle played, otherwise nobody in our group had anything to do with football,” says the 24-year-old. But that should change: through kindergarten friends, Torben Vogt once came to the minikickers of the Spvg Brakel – and has remained loyal to the Red-Blacks to this day. “Football has been my biggest hobby for 20 years,” emphasizes the Nethestädter, who is one of the leading players in the national league team and is their deputy captain.
As early as his last year of youth he was allowed to help out with the seniors, then quickly gained a foothold in the first team and celebrated two district league championships and promotion to the state league twice in a row. “We were promoted to the national league for the first time in the last A-youth year 2015”, says Torben Vogt and above all emphasizes the “great community” in the championship squad. “11 friends – that’s really the best. We got along really well off the pitch, ”he remembers the championship year with coach Andreas Struck. A year later there was another promotion to the regional league to celebrate, this time with the first team and coach Burkhard Sturm. And finally Torben Vogt was allowed to actually play in the national league himself. “We were often at the top in our youth, but we only managed to get promoted in my last year of youth,” reports the midfielder, who often helped out in central defense and performed there.
