– My client has missed – VG

Aranis Klaas makes several major changes after seven people were injured during a motor show at Bjerke this weekend. He now lies down “a little” flat.

Seven people were injured when a show car crashed into the stands during Arani’s Klaas Monster Truck Show at Bjerke in Oslo on Sunday. The driver and organizer are charged after the accident.

The German family business’s three shows outside Drammen trotting track next weekend have been canceled, but Klaas hopes to show off his car stunts in Skien next weekend.

– They work to improve security measures and learn from unfortunate incidents, says lawyer Patrick Lundevall-Unger to VG.

Security concept

He states that Klaas has bought a hundred meters of steel fences. At Bjerke, only barrier strips and plastic cones separated the audience from the vehicles.

The lawyer admits that the accident on Sunday was a lesson for the company, which has more than 40 years behind it on the road, allegedly without accidents with personal injury.

– In the future, the organizer will present a security concept to the police, municipality and landowners, and then the police can come and check how they are rigged, says Lundevall-Unger.

INJURY: Several people were injured on the ground after the accident.

The police are critical until they were only informed about the shows at Bjerke on Friday and believe it was so late that they did not have the opportunity to check the security.

– Had we been aware that there were no more solid, physical barriers, the event would not have been allowed, police lawyer in Oslo Bente Vengstad told VG.

On Thursday, she told VG that those who have been injured have not yet been appointed an assistance lawyer. About their condition, she says:

– We know too little to say anything about their condition.

Will apply for dispensation

On Wednesday, Lundevall-Unger said that the organizer Daniel Klaas does not need to apply for an exemption from the registration obligation in the Road Traffic Act, as long as they perform in a private, closed area.

On Thursday, the lawyer changed his mind.

– My client has missed the regulations and lies down a little flat. He will apply for a dispensation from the requirement to register the cars, says Lundevall-Unger.

The application gives the Norwegian Public Roads Administration the opportunity to demand that the vehicles are in good technical condition.

UNREGISTERED: Aranis Klaas’ show cars are unregistered.

– Illegal

The Oslo police are investigating the incident on Sunday and have seized almost 800,000 kroner in cash. The motor show only sells tickets for cash.

Police attorney Bente Vengstad said on Tuesday Avisa Oslo that the money is currently seized in connection with compensation amounts.

– I think the encumbrance is illegal. We demand that the seizure of money be lifted immediately. It is not linked to a basis of evidence in relation to the charge, says Lundevall-Unger.

The organizer Daniel Klaas is charged for negligently causing danger to the public, not for financial infidelity or violation of the VAT Act.

– A claim for compensation after personal injury is an insurance case, and shall not be covered by seizure of income. My client has a valid liability insurance of six million euros, says the lawyer.

He adds that the monster truck show during the Norwegian tour in the future will offer alternative payment methods for cash such as card terminals or Vipps.

Need documentation

The real estate company of Buskerud Trotting Association was to rent out the parking lot outside the closed Drammen trotting track to the German motor show this weekend.

General manager of the real estate company Mattis Asplin will make reservations:

– If they apply for new dates, we will see if we feel comfortable with the documentation they can present. We do not want any shabby, on the edge business with us, says Asplin to VG.

Asplin says that the tenant must document that permits, insurance and security are in order.

– As a landowner, we assume that the public’s safety is well taken care of.
