KOMPAS.com – Indonesian badminton legend, Greysia Poliihas officially announced his retirement as an athlete at Istora SenayanJakarta, on Sunday (12/6/2022) morning WIB.
Greysia Polii officially hangs up her racket at the age of 34.
The ceremony, entitled Testimonial Day: Greysia Polii, was attended by the General Director of PBSI Agung Firman Sampurna, Menpora Zainudin Amali, and Chairman of the Indonesian NOC Raja Sapta Oktohari.
In addition, hundreds of supporters who attended Istora Senayan also witnessed the moment of the Greysia Polii racket hanging ceremony.

Greysia burst into tears in the moment of the ceremony.
In his speech, the Jakarta-born badminton player expressed all his feelings and thanked all those who had provided support.
“It’s been a long journey, it takes 30 years to achieve all what I aspired to since I was young and it can’t be separated from the support of the Indonesian people, family, and the support of friends who are here,” said Greysia.
“I feel sometimes unworthy to be here, but I’m really grateful, and I thank God for all that’s been given.”
“As Minister Zainudin said that my blood is badminton. I only lived five years without badminton, 30 years was badminton.”

“So like it or not, I can still contribute well to Indonesian sports, especially badminton which has raised me, my name is, so that’s what makes me want to serve again,” said Greysia’s speech.
