Beautiful red and yellow apples, pine cones, multicolored subjects, fir branches, red or gold balls… In short, second-hand or natural decorations. Everything is carefully arranged in recovery crates that have been assembled to form a… tree.
The crates were collected from the kitchen and the decorations gleaned from the different groups in the children’s lives. Agents of Charles-Frey youth center were also invited to donate decorations they no longer needed.
During the “construction” of the Christmas tree a few days ago, children from day centers as well as from the boarding school were called upon to contribute. Aged 8 to 16, they have all been able to get involved and make their contribution to the building. The team of educators warmly greet all the children who participated in the operation “for their precious help”.
The tree is about five meters high and remains illuminated for most of the day.
The end result was a great success with everyone and the construction was very rewarding for all participants.
The Foyer Charles-Frey team will meet on Wednesday December 16 for the sewing workshop, the perfect time to meet the animators. The children will also be present from 11 am to 12 noon to sew a “fanny pack” and a mask.
