Today’s episode of My 600 lbs. Life introduces fans to Latonya Pottain and by the end of the episode fans are wondering if there is any update for 2023 on where she is right now. Has she made any progress in losing weight? Has she ever had surgery? Fans have many questions.
My 600 lbs. Life: Meet Latonya Pottain
A native of Shreveport, LA, Latonya Pottain lives just hours from Dr. Removed Now’s office. So it wasn’t too much of a problem for her to get in her car and drive four hours to the doctor. During the episode, she admitted that this wasn’t the first time she’d seen the TLC doctor. It turns out that My 600 lbs. Life Stern had a doctor’s appointment five years ago. Her weight at the time was in the 480s. Shortly after that appointment, she ended up in a motorized wheelchair. And she spent the next five years gaining weight.
For most of the episode, Latonya Pottain fluctuated between 620 and 640 pounds. The only time the TLC star lost weight was when Dr. Now kept her in the hospital because he was worried about her weight. Latonya Pottain was able to lose some weight in the hospital because she was put on Dr. Now held. Latonya Pottain argued with the doctor that the food in the hospital was barely edible.
After leaving the hospital and returning home, Latonya Pottain seemed to have turned things around as she started exercising a little more and made some changes to her diet. Unfortunately, it looks like she was still cheating when the cameras weren’t rolling as she gained five pounds after leaving the hospital.
Ultimately, Dr. Now that there was no point in visiting him again until she started taking the diet seriously, there was nothing he could do to help her.
Update 2023: where is she now?
Unfortunately, during her time with Dr. Now only removed when forced to do so. She couldn’t lose weight on her own and the TLC doctor gave her up. Unfortunately, there are not many pictures on her profile that are very recent. However, she posted a new profile picture a few days ago. However, it was just a selfie with heavy filters on it. While she looked happy, it didn’t seem like she’d lost much more weight since her time on the show.
Latonya gave fans an update on where she is now and how she’s doing while sharing a trailer of her episode. She owned the fact that she was on the show and not a success story. And she admitted that she still hadn’t reached her goal.
She wrote: “My episode will air on February 8, 2023. My story will help other people. No, I haven’t reached my goal, but I’m working on myself. Please keep any negative comments to yourself. If you know me, you know I’ll get with it. This will explode back so if you want to do anything for me say a positive prayer and thank you and move on.”
