NATIONAL INFO – The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 event is an opportunity for telecommunications industry players to witness the latest technological developments and share experiences in supporting global telecommunications connectivity.
Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, said that the exhibition, which was attended by more than 2,400 participants and attended by 1,100 speakers from various countries, had the opportunity to become a vehicle for showcase national telecommunications ecosystem. Therefore, Budi Arie is targeting Indonesia to participate by opening an Indonesian booth at the annual MWC 2025 trade exhibition.
“There have been discussions with several Director Generals. We hope that Indonesia can participate in the MWC event next year. “We plan to have an Indonesian booth next year,” he said during a visit to the MWC 2024 Exhibition, at Fira Gran Via, Barcelona, Spain, Tuesday, February 27 2024.
Budi Arie assesses that the dynamics of technological progress exhibited at MWC 2024 have important meaning for the Indonesian people who are currently undergoing accelerated digital transformation. Therefore, he hopes that the community and the Indonesian government can contribute actively.
“We must interpret this technological progress to make our society more productive, to be able to turn this technological progress into Indonesia’s progress,” he said.

According to Budi Arie, the technological sophistication on display at MWC 2024 shows digital infrastructure investment which promises great opportunities for implementation in Indonesia.
“A lot booth attractive, including investment in digital infrastructure. “A large country like Indonesia needs adequate digital infrastructure to support the digitalization process in Indonesia,” said Budi Arie.
The Ministry of Communication and Information’s plan to open a special booth at MWC 2025 is fully supported by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Spain, Muhammad Najib. According to him, this initiative was discussed but was stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Actually, we have been planning it for years. “I think after Covid-19, especially with extraordinary support from the Minister, I am optimistic that next year we can participate,” said Ambassador Muhammad Najib.
Najib said, the opening showcase allows business people from Indonesia to show their domestic work so that they are better known on the international stage.
“I think this is Kominfo’s game, it’s just that business people have to be involved, because various forms of applications or various forms of production that have been made in Indonesia need to be introduced,” he said.
He added, this is a very valuable opportunity for Indonesia to get partner from abroad to accelerate IT so that it can develop more quickly.
