The managing director of Mannheim’s listed utility MVV Energie AG, Georg Müller, informed the mayor of the city, Peter Kurz, as chairman of the supervisory board, that he is temporarily unable to perform his duties for health reasons. This was announced on Friday by the Stadtwerkeverbund, whose indirectly largest shareholder is the city of Mannheim. Müller, who has been managing the MVV since January 1, 2009, is undergoing clinical treatment, which is expected to begin in early 2022, he said. He therefore assumes that he will not be available to the company for several months. The supervisory board will now make arrangements for the temporary exercise of the functions of chief executive officer on the board. Born in Höxter / Westphalia, Müller (58) deals with commercial matters. Prior to joining MVV, he held managerial positions at the energy companies RWE AG and RWE Rhein-Ruhr AG, both in Essen, and VSE AG, Saarbrücken. Mayor Kurz said: “We wish Dr. all the best for the next clinical treatment and a speedy recovery.”
