The CEO of the listed Mannheim utility MVV Energie AG, Georg Müller, has informed the city’s Lord Mayor, Peter Kurz, as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, that he is temporarily unable to perform his duties for health reasons. This was announced on Friday by the Stadtwerkeverbund, whose indirectly largest shareholder is the city of Mannheim. Müller, who has been running the MVV since January 1, 2009, must undergo clinical treatment, which is expected to begin in early 2022, it said. He assumes that he will therefore not be available to the company for several months. The supervisory board will now make arrangements for the temporary performance of the duties of the CEO on the board. Born in Höxter/Westphalia, Müller (58) is responsible for commercial matters. Before joining MVV, he held managerial positions at the energy companies RWE AG and RWE Rhein-Ruhr AG, both in Essen, and VSE AG, Saarbrücken. Mayor Kurz said: “We wish Dr. All the best for the forthcoming clinical treatment and a speedy recovery.”
