M’vélo is expanding, the cargo bike specialist opens a new workshop in Montpellier

The M’vélo adventure began in 2012. Jean Sébastien Fabien wanted to offer bicycle repairs at home. To get around, what’s better than a cargo bike, to transport your equipment. “We were the first to ride this type of two-wheeler in the city. In France, it was not yet democratized so I had to go to the Netherlands to buy the first cargo bikes.” Very quickly, he developed his business and began selling these large electric bikes in a store. M’vélo already offered two wheels capable of transporting four children or more than 100 kg of equipment.

The success was dazzling and Jean Sébastien Fabien had to push the walls of the store. M’vélo has just moved to a larger workshop in Port Marianne, avenue Nina Simone. “We can bring several cargo bikes into our store at the same time, and test them with families or professionals who come to us.” In total, 50 m² of workshop for repair and a 140 m² store.

Mvélo offers ranges for families and professionals. Bikes which mainly come from the Netherlands, Germany and even France. At the moment the shop has a full-time mechanic and are looking to recruit. On average, M’vélo repairs seven bikes per day in the workshop.
