In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, medical masks must be worn on buses, trains and when shopping from Monday. The state government agreed on this with representatives of associations and trade unions on Friday at the so-called MV summit.
To meet the mask requirement, so-called surgical masks are sufficient. Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) announced, however, that the country will distribute FFP2 masks to police officers, teachers and, for example, employees of youth welfare offices. The country had bought 2.6 million masks itself. The state parliament has now released money for further mask purchases. Schwesig also campaigned for stricter contact rules. According to state regulations, only contact with someone outside of your own household should be recommended. The group had met again since the morning to discuss how the latest federal / state agreements on corona protective measures are being implemented in the state. The Prime Minister and Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) agreed on Tuesday to extend the lockdown to mid-February in view of the continued high number of infections. The state parliament had given its approval in a special session on Thursday.
Strict rules from incidence 150
According to Schwesig, districts can in future introduce stricter corona rules within the previous seven days from an incidence value of 150 new infections. The district of Vorpommern-Greifswald will therefore only offer emergency care in daycare centers and primary schools from Monday, Schwesig said. The date has now been confirmed by the district. The movement radius of the population is limited to 15 kilometers around the place of residence, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. there is a curfew. Tourist trips to the district are also not allowed for citizens of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, unless it is a visit to the nuclear family. In addition, the entry rules are tightened. Anyone who comes to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from a foreign high-risk area or a country with a high risk of infections due to the dangerous virus mutation must be in quarantine without exception. However, there will be no change to the travel regulations to and from Poland.
