MuziekRijvers Festival can look back on a record edition. 40,000 visitors found their way to Lievegem, where they enjoyed four days of music and meeting TV stars. “Our ambition for next year? To be the largest and most beautiful family festival in Flanders”, says the organization.
Many famous people came to Lievegem last weekend for the Rijvers Festival. “The absolute crowd pullers were undoubtedly Camille, Pommelien Thijs, #LikeMe and Natalia who always performed their act in front of a crowded Star Stage. Amber Broos and Average Rob provided one of the highlights on the Beats Stage with 4,000 exuberant festival goers and Intergalactic Lovers and Flip Kowlier, among others, brought musical delights and atmosphere to the Love Stage,” said Floris Benoit, spokesperson for the festival.
There was a TikTok Stage where visitors could take a picture with their great heroes. In addition to a long queue for Stien Edlund and Céline Dept, among others, the cast of ‘FC De Kampioenen’ proved to be extremely popular. In total, more than 11,000 selfies, TikTok videos, Instagram and Facebook posts and signatures were posted there.

The festival also used reusable drink cups. No deposit was requested, which made it a bit easier for visitors. But also in this way a large number of cups were exchanged. “We noticed that this system was very well received. More than 5,000 visitors exchanged their collection of cups for a free drink,” said Floris Benoit.
Rijvers Festival will start on a public holiday for the first time next year: August 15 and will then take place for four ‘holidays’.
