Ramallah – the world of the homeland
Ballerina Svetlana Zakharova, heroine of the Bolshoi Theater and the only Russian star at La Scala, is known for astonishing audiences and critics worldwide with her distinctive technique and brilliant performances in classical and contemporary roles.
Svetlana Zakharova is regarded as one of the most famous dancers of the twenty-first century, and Svetlana Zakharova stars in the show “Modaniz” produced by MuzArts at the Dubai Opera, and the Russian artist participates on stage with a large number of stars, including dancers of the Bolshoi Theater ballet company, including Michael Lopukhin, Vyacheslav Lopatin, Denis Savin, Artemy Belyakov, Anastasia Stashkevich and Anna Turazashvili.
The evening begins with the ballet Come Un Respiro (Like a Breath of Air), a performance by Italian choreographer Mauro Pigonzetti and specially produced for Svetlana Zakharova, with theme music by composer George Frideric Handel. The show is characterized by details of the Baroque period, not only in the music, but also in the exquisite and elegant choreography and costumes that Helena de Medeiros designed especially for the show.
The second part of the show will be dedicated to celebrating the legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel through the ballet Gabrielle Chanel, a unique collaboration between the choreographer, Yuri Posokhov, and the composer, Ilya Demotsky, with the great director, Alexey Frandetti.
The Chanel International Fashion House, headed by Ms. Virginie Viard, designed and crafted more than 80 pieces of costumes especially for Gabrielle Chanel’s ballet show.
The show tells the story of Chanel, who had a major influence on the fashion world during the 20th century, as it presents her unique journey as a singer at the head of one of the biggest fashion houses in the world, this journey which transformed all scales of the fashion world of the twentieth century. Chanel was inspired by dance, movement and the expression of freedom as a beautiful language of beauty. He has had many collaborations with the greatest artists and choreographers of the time, supported the founder of the Ballet Russe, Sergei Diaghilev, who revolutionized the dance arts and revived the great opera, The Sagra of Spring, in 1920, and has designed the costumes for the show “Le Train Bleu” in 1924 and “Apollon Musagete” in 1929 in Paris.
