One-and-a-half-year-old Ragnar hates routine visits. At the vet, his stress can quickly climb, the bill too. “A scanner, surgery, very advanced additional examinations … We have care that can sometimes be very expensive”, says Dr Alexia Gadreaud, veterinarian – Tremblay clinic, Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne ). Since the adoption of their dog, his masters have taken out mutual insurance for animals: 35 euros per month for a complete formula. His health costs fully reimbursed at that price. “We go to the doctor and we don’t ask ourselves the question of how much the insurance will reimburse us or how much we will pay. It’s really secondary”, says Lucile, owner of Ragnar. Caring for our animals is more and more expensive, on average 830 euros per year for a dog, 388 euros for a cat. This is why many French people turn to these specialized mutuals. In one of them in Paris, we love animals. Some employees come to work with their dog, and this may be the secret of the company’s success. After a year of activity, it already has 15,000 customers. TF1 | Report JM Bagayoko, D. Pires, N.
