Jonatan Christie defeated the Indian representative, Lakshya Sen, 15-21, 21-10, 21-13 in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Indonesia Masters. Jojo advanced to the semifinals.
Competing on Court 1 Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (27/1/2023), Jonatan started the match tightly against Indian singles. In the first game, the battle for points was tight at the start.
Jonathan was able to match Lakshya up to a score of 15-15, but Lakshya was able to win the first game by winning 21-15.
In the second game, Jonathan was able to reply. Appearing aggressive since the fight resumed, Jonathan was able to win with a large score difference, namely 21-10. The third game is then played.
In the decisive round, Jonathan was finally able to win again. A score of 21- was enough to get Jonathan into the semifinals.
In the semifinals, Jonathan will face Shi Yu Qi. Previously, China’s singles won the civil war against Lu Guang Zu 21-10, 21-17. The semifinals will be held on Saturday (28/1/2023).
