Must shell out for “Bettan”

After a long and troubled process with the building authorities in Asker municipality, Elisabeth “Bettan” Andreassen (63) finally received an approved application for renovation of her leisure property on Brønnøya in Asker.

That decision was made in October. Now it appears that the municipality must also turn up 83,000 kroner to the artist, after she emerged victorious from the case. It writes Budstikka.

It was last month that the artist got the green light to demolish his much talked about outbuilding of 22 square meters. At the same time, she has been approved to list a new one in the same place, with the same size.

– Taken for treatment

This happened shortly after the municipal director put his foot down, and revoked the municipality’s original decision to reject the processing of Bettan’s building application.

“After a renewed assessment, the municipal director has come to the conclusion that the application can still be processed,” it was stated in the letter from the municipality.

Elisabeth Andreassen received the decision with great relief at the time.

– I am very happy and satisfied that I have been heard, and that the complaint was upheld. Then I hope the process, which has taken far too long, will continue, she wrote in an SMS to Børsen.

Cover expenses

The 63-year-old’s responsible applicant has been Boxs Arkitektstudio AS, while civil architect Nils-Jacob Lugg has been responsible for the complaint. The latter has strongly opposed the municipality’s processing of the case and asked for a formal apology. Construction case manager Malvin Bjorøy in Asker municipality has, however, rejected the criticism.

– As a construction case authority in a case where it is a responsible applicant who is responsible for the construction case, only the company in question we have contact with, says Bjorøy to Budstikka in connection with the latest development.

According to the newspaper, Asker municipality will thereby cover the building case fees and expenses for architects that Andreassen has had in connection with the appeal case.
