Last autumn, the 17th season of “Skal vi danse” aired on the TV screen.

At the same time as the participants competed on the floor every Saturday for several weeks, they trained daily at the dance center located near Bislett in Oslo.

On the night of Friday 25 September, a few weeks after the program premiered, a man in his 50s is said to have entered the center that belonged to TV 2, and stolen items worth at least 931,107 kroner.

According to the indictment, the man must have brought with him TV production equipment in addition to equipment that belonged to the production participants. The theft is considered serious, because special emphasis is placed on a significant value.

– He admits criminal guilt and has contributed to a significant part of the estate having recovered, says his defender, Lars Mathias Undheim.

The CEO of Nordisk Film AS, Erlend Hernø Røeggen, on the other hand, states that only something of the equipment has come in handy.

– Unfortunately, we miss quite a lot, he writes in an e-mail.

– Extra critical

Røeggen says that they were the ones who reported the case, after people came to work and discovered that there had been a burglary.

– The equipment mainly belongs to us as a production company, but some belonged to some of our suppliers, such as photographers and sound technicians. There were also private belongings that were stolen without me wanting to go into it further.

He says that burglary and theft are serious no matter who is hit, but:

– For us, it is extra critical when equipment we need to produce something that will be on the air just days later, disappears. Fortunately, we are well on our way to anything that can go wrong.

The man is also charged with several other matters that do not concern the “Shall We Dance” production.

Defender Undheim, for his part, says that his client has cooperated with the police, and the defender expects him to receive a solid penalty discount.

Two days have been set aside for the court hearing in Oslo District Court after the summer.
