Starlink had refused to comply with the decision to block access to X by all internet providers in Brazil.

On Tuesday, Elon Musk’s Starlink announced its intention to comply with Judge Alexandre de Moraes’ order to block access to the social network X in Brazil.

Starlink said in a post on X that it had initiated legal proceedings before Brazil’s Supreme Court to explain the “flagrant illegality” of Moraes’ order, which froze Starlink’s finances and prevents it from conducting financial transactions in the South American nation.

“Regardless of the illegal treatment given to Starlink in the freezing of our assets, we are complying with the order to block access to X in Brazil,” the post on X said.

Like others who agree that the judge’s “recent orders violate the Brazilian Constitution,” Starlink said it continues to explore all legal options.

Starlink had refused on Monday to comply with Moraes’ decision to have all internet providers block access to X in Brazil.

Tensions between Brazil and Musk’s business empire escalated when the country’s telecom regulator threatened to sanction Starlink after its top court backed the controversial decision to ban the social network X.

In this context, the computer systems of the Brazilian Supreme Court and other state institutions, such as the National Telecommunications Agency and the Federal Police, were victims of cyberattacks allegedly related to the decision to block the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Brazil’s Supreme Court said in a statement Tuesday that its systems were attacked simultaneously on August 29, causing a 10-minute disruption in operations.
