One of the children of multibillionaire Elon Musk, who changed his gender, officially requested a change of name, “because I no longer want to live or be associated with my biological father in any way, species or form.”
The application was filed in April in Los Angeles, but it became known in the last hours.
In it, Xavier Alexander Musk, who recently turned 18 – the age at which many civil rights are earned in California – asked for his identity to be changed to a woman and a new name, Vivian Jenna Wilson.
She has a twin brother, Griffin, and their mother is Canadian writer Justin Wilson, who divorced Musk in 2008 after eight years of marriage.
So far there is no explanation why the billionaire’s child has reached such a rift with his father.
In May, about a month after filing a lawsuit to change gender and name, Elon Musk announced his support for the Republican Party of the United States. Many of its lawmakers support a package of laws and bills that restrict the country’s rights to gender identity change (so-called transgender).
In 2020, he wrote on Twitter that “I fully support trans people, but this whole name change is an aesthetic nightmare.”
