Musk interviews Trump, Melonian Fidanza sides with the patron of X and against the EU: “Commissioner Breton’s letter is Maduro stuff”

The Melonian Charles Fidanzahead of the Fratelli d’Italia-Ecr delegation in the European Parliament, sides with Elon Musk and against the EU Commission. “The letter from the EU Commissioner Thierry Breton that threatens Elon Musk a few hours after his live broadcast with Donald Trump – Fidanza says on social media – it’s an absolute disgrace. We are dealing with preventive censorship, thought police, Orwellian repression”.

According to Fidanza, this is “Maduro stuff (who not by chance silenced the X platform a few days ago), rather than “European values” and “rule of law”.

The MEP stressed that “whatever one thinks, free men and women should rise up in defense of freedom of expression”.

Breton’s letter to Musk

European Commissioner Thierry Breton, referring to the Tesla boss’s interview with Trump, stressed that “with a large audience comes greater responsibility”, while in a letter he reminded Musk of his obligation to combat illegal content and disinformation according to European directives.

Breton expressed concern about the “risk of amplifying potentially harmful content in the EU,” citing the interview with the Republican candidate and referring to Musk’s statements on the riots in the United Kingdom.
