Musk forces Twitter staff to adopt a “hardcore” work style.

Go hardcore or quit: Twitter staffers will be forced to sign a pledge agreeing to work weeks of up to 80 hours. “Only outstanding performance can lead to a passing score.”

Working from home is eliminated altogether, work weeks can last 80 hours and employees receive fewer benefits: these are just some of the rules that Elon Musk has introduced on Twitter, which he bought three weeks ago. Anyone who does not like the new working conditions can resign. Musk disclosed this in an email to staff, he writes The Washington Post. Staff members are given one day to fill out an online form – they either accept the new style or accept a 3 month slack.

That new style will be “extremely hardcore,” Musk said in the email, with long hours and heavy workloads. “Only outstanding performance can lead to a passing score.”

Musk delivers that tough message not long after he’s fired about half the staff. Virtually all top management had to do this to go up. The rest of the staff has already prevailed very sorry. Musk has warned that Twitter could fear bankruptcy if its $44 billion purchase doesn’t start producing soon.

Meanwhile in court

Musk’s stunning new rules come at a time when he himself has to appear in court. The billionaire defended himself today in a Delaware court in the United States. A shareholder in his car company Tesla has it taken to court because, as CEO, he had given himself an options package that they felt was too generous.

Richard Tornetta claims Musk got that favorable pay without even having to work full-time for Tesla. He has been involved in SpaceX rockets, among other things. Meanwhile, Musk has completely shifted his focus to Twitter, he admitted in court. “In times of crisis, attention goes to where the crisis is,” he said. The leadership of Musk and Tesla claims that under his leadership the value of the shares has increased tenfold.
