The billionaire’s rivals in the space race have reacted to the successful launch and return to earth of the Unity spacecraft with tourists on board.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos congratulated British billionaire and Virgin Galactic owner Richard Branson on a successful suborbital flight.
“Congratulations, wonderful flight!” – Musk wrote in a comment on Branson’s Twitter post.
Bezos reacted to the Instagram event.
“I’m looking forward to joining the club” – he noted in the publication.
Five Virgin Galactic employees took off with the businessman – test pilots Dave Mackai and Michael Mazucci, Sirisha Bundle research officer, Colin Bennett, lead engineer, and Beth Moses, Astronaut Training Program Leader, who oversaw the flight.
