Music – Lübeck:Jazz Award 2021 goes to trumpeter Christian Höhn

Lübeck (dpa / lno) – The “IB.SH-Jazzaward” donated by the Schleswig-Holstein Investment Bank goes to jazz trumpeter Christian Höhn this year. The award, endowed with 3,000 euros, will be presented on June 25 at this year’s Jazz Baltica in Timmendorfer Strand, announced the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival on Friday. The award has been given to talented young jazz musicians since 2008.
Michael Adamska from the investment bank justified the jury’s decision as Höhn was an exciting young talent from Schleswig-Holstein and more than convinced the jury with his expressive music.
According to the festival, Höhn was born in Eutin in 1999. He began his musical training at the age of ten. As a member of the big band of the Ostseegymnasium Timmendorfer Strand he was repeatedly on stage with the festival director Nils Landgren. His role model made him want to become a professional musician, said Höhn, who has been studying at the University of Music and Theater in Hamburg since 2017.
