Musik – Dresden – Semperoper goes to day care centers with Nils Karlsson Däumling

Dresden (dpa / sn) – The Semperoper Dresden rejuvenates its audience and goes to kindergartens with the children’s opera “Nils Karlsson Däumling”. The new production of the play by Thierry Tidrow is part of the educational project “Oper mobil: Kindergarten”, announced the Saxon State Opera Dresden on Thursday.

The musical theater piece for small fans, which was commissioned by the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and premiered in 2019, tells the story of Bertil and the thumbling Nisse, who get along very well despite the size difference. The Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren (1907-2002) provided the literary model. The two-person play is directed by Julia B.-Malthet.
