Musician and songwriter Rūta Ķergalve has released her latest performance – the composition “Vārdi”. The song also has a video.
“The song is an invitation to address people, use their language, words to implement good intentions and provide support,” explains Rūta Ķergalve, who is also the author of the new song’s music.
“At a time when we are free to share our views and share them with others, it is important not to lose ourselves in the sea of many different views and ideas. To use the power of the word to draw attention to the important and the true, to prevent injustices from slipping past, sometimes just a few words are enough, ”says the musician.
The lyrics of the song are an excerpt from a Latvian folk song.
Rūta Ķergalve is a musician, singer and songwriter from Kuldīga. Graduated from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music as a vocal teacher of jazz and popular music. Participated in various folk music and singing festivals. Features of jazz, folk and pop music can be heard in Rūta’s music.
Currently, the musician helps young people to develop their musical skills, actively works on creating music recordings, composing music for various projects, creating her own music, collaborating with music producer Arvīds Saulīte, who is also a co-author and producer of the song “Vārdi”.
In collaboration with Matīss Saulīte (SO / SO Films), a music video has also been made for the song.
