Petr Dudešek died at the age of 81 last Wednesday. He did not only devote himself to his group Buřinka and Beruška, he was also a member of the Petr Bezruč Theater in Ostrava.
He founded the band in which he played the drums in 1967. Originally it was called Theater Five, shortly afterwards it was renamed 6 gentlemen in Buřinky. Later it was called Music without a bandleader, in 1978 the name was last changed. Because the group became more of a girls’ choir, it started calling itself Petr Dudešek’s Buřinky and Berušky.
After the Velvet Revolution, the legendary musician also sniffed politics. Between 1990 and 1992, he was a Member of Parliament and a member of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Education and Sports.
The last farewell will take place on Tuesday, October 27, in Příbor near Kopřivnice. “Given the current situation, the capacity in the mourning hall will be limited, but there will be speakers outside so that people who do not get inside will at least hear,” Graclík said.
Dudešek survived both wives, leaving behind daughters Petr and Simon and a granddaughter.
