Musician interview: Eberwein Quintett: The rhythm in the blood – City of Landshut

When the Eberwein quintet plays, anything is possible. A song can begin jazzy, then someone sings about pigs and sausages, the beat always slips into the Bavarian three-quarters. And somehow the troupe – all of them professional musicians – manage to make everything sound right and just right. On August 12th they can be heard with their Bavarian chamber sound in the courtyard of the Landshut Museum. The concert takes place as part of Bernhard Hirtreiter’s serenade concerts.

Marlene Eberwein-Seefelder is the musical and eponymous head of the quintet. We talked to her about her very special sound and what it means to come from a musically famous family.

LZ: Ms. Eberwein, how does Bavarian chamber sound sound?
