A musician performing on the New York subway on Tuesday was attacked by a woman who hit him in the head with a metal water bottle during his performance.
The shocking scene which took place around 5:50 p.m. in the 34th Street – Herald Square station was filmed from several angles.
The passerby can be seen grabbing a metal water bottle from the ground before hitting the musician behind the head.

“Yesterday I was attacked on the New York subway,” Iain S. Forrest wrote on , a red scarf and gloves attacked me by hitting me violently on the back of my head with my metal water bottle.
“She fled the station,” continues the 29-year-old man. The police were unable to find her.”
The motivations behind the attack are still unknown, according to a police analysis of the video published by the New York Post.

Mr. Forrest indicates, however, that this is the second time he has been attacked in less than a year while performing in one of the Big Apple’s metro stations.
“I don’t think I can continue,” the musician saddened in his publication. I am suspending my performances in the metro indefinitely.”
The viral video has reached more than 12 million views as of Friday.
Several of the two thousand comments sent messages of support for the young man.
