The federal Ministry of Culture and the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal), through the National Coordination of Music and Opera, will present Omar Pérez and Alexander Pashkov, winners of the auditions for Fine Arts Concert Players, in their first concert for the activities of Music Inbal in the Sala Manuel M. Ponce of the Palace of Fine Arts, on Sunday, April 7 at 6:00 p.m.
The concert will open with the Italian serenade for viola and pianoby Hugo Wolf, a late 19th-century Austrian composer, who originally wrote it for string quartet, and will continue with Romantic song, Op. 18by Oskar Nedbal, Czech violinist and composer, disciple of Antonín DvoÅ™ák, followed by Adagio, by Zoltán Kodály, Hungarian author and ethnomusicologist. The first part of the program will end with the Adagio y allegro, Op. 70by Robert Schumann, German creator and pianist of the 19th century, considered one of the most important and representative composers of musical romanticism.
After the intermission the Two pieces for viola and pianoby Frank Bridge, English composer and violist, and the concert will close with Sonata for viola and piano, Op. 120 no. 2by Johannes Brahms, German pianist and creator of classical romantic music, considered “the most classic of the romantic composers.”
Omar Pérez Gaydos began his musical career in the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela. He studied viola at the Conservatory Simon Bolivar in Caracas and in 2019 she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Viola Performance from the Association of Royal Schools of Music. She won a national string quartet competition in Venezuela and another in Mexico. She has been a member of the Symphony Orchestra Simon Bolivar of Venezuela and the Jalisco Philharmonic. He is currently part of the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra and collaborates with the Soloists of America and Minería Symphony orchestras.
Alexander Pashkov was named “Young Talent of Russia” at the First National Piano Competition Ippolitov-Ivanov in Moscow and in 1995 he won the Competition Gartow Foundation of the Society of Friends of Music in Hamburg, Germany. He obtained a master’s degree in Piano History and Theory, Pedagogy and Concert Performance at the Russian State Conservatory in Saint Petersburg and a doctorate at the Petrozavodsk Conservatory. He has participated in the Blanco y Negro festivals, Bernal Jimenez of Morelia, the Piano Week in Monterrey and the Internacional Cervantino, in Guanajuato. He is currently a professor at the Conservatorio de las Rosas and the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico.
