Workshop description:
Singing weekend with vocal experiments, text games and atmospheric soundscapes.
During these three days we experience a musical-emotional interplay in which our voices play the main role, both as individuals and in the choir’s sound. We will engage in breathing and physical exercises that will give us a more conscious awareness of our instrument and prepare us both mentally and vocally for playful, improvisational circle singing.
But we will also enjoy the diversity of polyphony by learning small song fragments from me. In the joint giving and taking of words, tones, sounds and noises, in listening to and reacting to one another in the midst of freely intuitive improvisations, each participant is allowed to add their own personal touch. We also work with texts and setting texts to music and create musical miniatures together, which will be created from everyone’s wealth of ideas.
At the end there will be a small concert that will reflect our three-day work in excerpts.
The course is aimed at singing enthusiasts aged around 16 and over. Previous musical knowledge of reading music is not necessary, but experience in choir singing or similar is helpful.
