Música Diversa opens the festival period after the state of alarm

The Diverse Music Festival will be held between June 3 and 12, thus becoming the first major musical event in the city after the lifting of the long period of state of alarm. The event could not be held last year as part of its programming was included in the amalgamation of activities that was the “Oasis of Culture” program launched by the City Council, although in June it will recover the essence that it has maintained for 17 years.

There will be nine performances, all on the esplanade of the Jardin de los Zuloaga, still with restrictions due to the covid: 231 spectators, all seated, at most who will pay tickets at the price of 1 euro, the cheapest and 12 euros, the most expensive, coinciding with performances scheduled on two Saturdays and Sundays that cover the festival period.

Precisely, the festival recovers for Saturday June 5 the performances of the winners of the previous edition and musicians from Segovia who could not participate last year, such as Segoviana, Violeta 20, Durango 14 (Madrid) and Junior Mackenzie, from Castellón. The next day the Galicians from The soul jackets will go on stage. The closing of Música Diversa closes on June 12 with the electronic music event “Divertronic” in which the Segovians Jimmy Moon (Jaime Enguídanos Alegre) and Xas (José Antonio García illanas) will participate as hosts of the Swiss duo Loudrogs, the Madrilenian , Verónika Bows and the Argentine author, Chaco Campos.

The program is completed with performances by the Segovians, Mystic Hype and the Vinagres (Madrid), on June 4 and performances by the band and the orchestra of the Municipal School of Music.

The Board said no

The Segovian festival of Diverse Music is one of those that participated in the grants from the Siglo Foundation for festivals that are celebrated in the community and also one of the events that did not achieve enough points in the selection process, remaining without regional aid despite its 17 years old.

The truth is that the event does not have the support of the provincial council, even though its organizers also knocked on that door with proposals for performances at the Juan Bravo theater.

In this way, of the 30,000 euros of budget that this year’s edition has, the City Council contributes 20,000, while they also collaborate with the Artilugio Producciones event and the commercial brand, Coca Cola.
