Chairpersons, honorary members and guests met on Saturday for the 47th delegates’ meeting of the Canton Schwyz Music Veterans Association.
mit At 2:30 p.m. sharp, President Meinrad Kälin opened the assembly in Gersau. This was followed by the honoring of the members who had died since the last delegates’ meeting – a clarinet quartet from Feldmusik Gersau played a chorale.
Minutes, annual accounts and the auditor’s report were unanimously accepted with thanks to the authors, as was the President’s annual report. The board members up for re-election according to rotation were confirmed with applause for another term of office.
The longtime treasurer Erwin Gantner submitted his resignation, for his great services he was awarded honorary membership and said goodbye with prolonged applause. After a short discussion, the board’s proposal to present the veterans’ association with a new homepage was approved.
The delegates’ meeting in 2024 will be held by the Schübelbach-Buttikon Harmony Musicians, and the next three veterans’ days will all take place in Ausserschwyz: 2023 in Galgenen, 2024 in Altendorf and 2025 in Lachen.
Organizers are still being sought for the veterans’ trips in 2023 and the years to come. Alex Zimmermann brought the greetings of the cantonal association, then Meinrad Kälin was able to end the meeting, which had gone quickly.
