Despite the big question mark that the year 2021 represents for artists, there are many who come out or work on musical projects … whatever the cost! Here are ten artists from the Pink City (or its surroundings), with varied universes, to follow in the coming months.
Berywam
The beatbox group, Berywam, impatient. With a first album and an international tour, 2020 was to be the year of the Berywam … but the health crisis swept everything in its path.

Léana, Lynn and Jade are three sisters who form the group Aöme. Les Toulousaines, who made a name for themselves with covers broadcast on the Internet a few years ago, have just released a new title, “Frequent”, with the singer from Toulouse, Savin.
The beginning of a new turn for young women, who have signed with Warner Music (Parlophone label) and who plan to unveil other titles in the weeks and months to come.
Furax Barbarossa
He’s been a pillar of underground rap for 20 years. Known for his chiseled, dark and sharp texts, Furax Barbarosa is due to release a new album slated for release in fall 2021.
This does not prevent him from staying active since he has released many projects in recent months, like his special containment mixtape “A lonely”, or his EP, “Cha-O-Ha” . Psykup
Almost two decades ago, Psykup was one of the most prominent metal bands and ignited the stages of the Pink City and elsewhere with their own musical style. Since then, each member of the group has come a long way … But now the people of Toulouse had the good idea to resuscitate Psykup and release a 5th album, in February 2021, entitled « Hello Karma ». And the Psykups are even planning a Bikini (fingers crossed) to celebrate next fall, with their friends from Sidilarsen.
Foé
Here is a great talent of French song. In 2018, Nicolas Poyet, known as Foé had released a very eclectic and critically acclaimed debut album. Since then, the young man with the deep and powerful voice left his parents’ room in Toulouse to “go up” to Paris. Founded by the prestigious label Tôt ou Tard (Vianney, Shaka Ponk, Cats on Trees, Vincent Delerm…) Foé has been preparing a second album for many months. The first titles should be released soon. “It’s only a matter of weeks,” he announced recently on social networks.
Julien barbagallo
Battery side, Julien barbagallo is the drummer of one of the most famous bands in the world, Tame Impala. On the other side, Julien Barbagallo is an artist who has been exploring sophisticated and inspired pop through his solo projects for several years. Originally from Albi, the artist lives in Toulouse and released an EP during confinement, “Tarabust”. A new extract from his future album (scheduled for spring 2021) entitled Debout, has also been available recently.
Vixen
Vixenis the name of the musical group set up by Bruno Dibra. The Toulouse group has just unveiled a new title, “Perdu d’avance”, which prefigures the release of an EP, scheduled for March 12, 2021 (at Nuance Records), entitled “Short films”. Renarde unrolls a very effective pop and a psychedelic touch, of which we are impatiently awaiting other extracts in the coming weeks.
TLZ clan
Here is a group of rap which over the months, increases in power … Job and Drixon, two rappers from the north of Toulouse released several titles in 2020: and each time, they have largely exceeded 100,000 views on Youtube. Since then, the two young men have signed with the Epic label and should soon release, over time, new songs.
Shadow
At only 23 years old, Shadow (Andréas Touzé of his real name) has been talking about him for several years. The native of Rodez has just been pre-selected for the Inoüis du Printemps de Bourges (known to be a nice springboard for new talents). Inspired by artists like Fauve, Ben Mazué, Gaël Faye or even Bigflo and Oli (who have followed him for several years), Lombre has released a second EP entitled “From shadow to light”, in which he multiplies his musical explorations. , poetic and lyrical. An artist to follow.
Slim Paul
His new album, « Good for You » came out just over a week ago. Toulouse bluesman Slim Paul (ex-Scarecrow) continues to spread its good vibes over the years. His recipe? An exceptional tone of voice, well-felt riffs and timeless and always very worked melodies. An artist with a big heart to see on stage, of course (as soon as we can)!
