The Chicano gang Mrs. Henry, formed in 2015, wants to make a mark on rock through their songs and their new album Keep on Rising. Cervantes, on guitar and voice, Blake Dean, on the bass, Chad Lee, on drums, and Jody Bagley, on keyboards they have not stopped doing what they love the most: surrendering to music.
In this album they combine the blues, the folk, the grunge 90’s and a lot a lot of rock, with influences from The Who, The Rolling Stones and also Pink Floyd.
Daniel Cervantes was born in San Diego, California. His mother, an American, wanted him to dedicate himself to something more theatrical; However, his father Francisco Cervantes supported him to form his band and dedicate more time to rock.
“We have worked hard to deliver something quite complete, a Rock Opera that has everything we want to reflect: the composition, the lyrics, the music, the voices, we have been planning this for a long time, so we started with this part that we are sure that people who love rock are going to love it “, highlighted Cervantes in an interview with M2, before his concert in San Diego.
Each of the members provides something special to the group, and together they want to highlight the magic that arises between them when they get together to compose and play, so for them to show their essence is so simple that they only care about projecting their emotions to others .
“Each one of us offers what we have is as if Mrs. Henry was a robot: Chad puts his arms, Jody the legs, Daniel the body or the head, and so we are forming our great robot that only works as we have structured it ”, highlighted Blake.
The quartet mentioned that it is a bit strange to create the connection with people through trends, since there are many artists who have left social networks and some prefer collaborations, others change their musical genre and there are those who only seek to create successes ; They do not seek to stand out but to share with those who want to listen to them.
“Now they are all rockstars or everyone always wants to do the same, when we started in this, many were directed to just one trend, now there is a mixture, we want people to identify with us, to connect through love as humans; We do not seek to please as an obligation, but rather that everything arises in a very natural and organic way ”, emphasized Cervantes.
Drummer Chad added: “If we want to show our originality, that our essence is understood, in addition we all as a team decide what we want to contribute, what decisions to make and hopefully this resonates with others, we do not try to compare ourselves with anyone.”
Keep on Rising It is now available on all digital and physical platforms, on vinyl, released by Blind Owl Records, which is the same firm created by Cervantes in 2012.
