Music that illuminates the sunset

The small town of Rivilla de Barajas became a little bigger at dusk this Friday, at least emotionally, when it became, for the second year running, the scene of a “magical and unforgettable evening” with the celebration of the unique concert ‘Piano from Heaven’, an event that, explained the mayor of this Morañego municipality, Anselmo Sanz, “brought together an enthusiastic crowd around music and art. The success of the event was such, he added, that, “in an unprecedented event, the pews had to be removed from the church to accommodate the large number of attendees, who came to enjoy a night that will remain etched in everyone’s memory.”

This evening of music in the heights, which had a beautiful sunset as its backdrop, began with the performances of “the talented piano students, who demonstrated a very high artistic and technical level, offering a varied repertoire that captivated all those present. The emotion and applause of the public were the recognition of the effort and dedication of these young musicians, who shone under the stars.”

The evening continued with a performance by Fernando Simón, who “with his sensitivity and mastery on the piano” offered a concert focused on classical works “with which he knew how to connect deeply with the audience, performing pieces that evoked emotions and memories in all those present.”

The evening was rounded off by Jesús Fernández, who delighted the audience with pieces from well-known soundtracks, as well as some of his own compositions, “managing to create a dreamlike atmosphere, transporting listeners through music to unique and evocative soundscapes.”

‘Piano desde el Cielo’, said Anselo Sanz, “has proven to be much more than a simple musical event; it has been a celebration of culture, community and art at its finest. Rivilla de Barajas, with its welcoming atmosphere and warm people, has been the perfect setting for a night that will undoubtedly mark a before and after in the cultural history of the town.”

The event organisers, he concluded, “would like to thank the participants, musicians, volunteers and attendees for their support and enthusiasm, making this very special evening possible”… which is expected to be held again in 2025.
