Kollam 1st Additional Sessions Court Judge Roy Varghese sentenced the accused music teacher Prashant Nambiar (35) of Kozhikode Vadakara Thoduwayal house in the case of murdering Sivadas’s only daughter Suchitra Pillai (42) in a rented house in Palakkad in Natuvilakkara Sree Vihar, Mukhtala Trikovilvattam.
The incident related to the case took place in March 2020. Married and a father of one, Prashant Nambiar was earlier a music teacher in a private school in Palakkad. Suchitra Pillai, a distant relative, is a family friend of Prashant Nambiar’s in-laws. Prashant Nambiar, who had an intimate relationship with Suchitra Pillai, a divorcee from a rich family, also took Rs 2.56 lakh.
The prosecution’s case is that Suchitra Pillai’s insistence on giving birth to Prashant Nambiar’s child in order to become an unmarried mother led to the murder. Suchitra Pillai was brought to a rented house in Manali, Palakkad, after being killed by hitting her head on the floor, suffocating her with an electric wire, and then cutting off her legs and feet. The body parts were buried and burned.
