District.The aim of the Josef Stanglmeier Foundation is to promote meaningful leisure activities for young people, especially in the arts. But even here you had to get creative in times of pandemics. As a replacement for their popular audition campaigns, the foundation’s district leaders organized a video campaign. Since live events have not been possible since last year due to Corona, an online format was offered. Children and young people who are active in the fields of music, singing and dance should have their hobby filmed in a particularly beautiful location in the district of Cham and upload the result to the district office’s internet cloud. It has become 85 clips. Contributions were sent from all parts of the district, all genres of music and all age groups are represented. All participants received financial recognition from the Josef Stanglmeier Foundation.

In order to show the public the variety of submissions, 20 videos will be shown in an Internet presentation on the district office’s YouTube channel from mid-December. Simon Frank, employee of the municipal youth work, is above all enthusiastic about the naturalness and joy. Each and every contributor presents himself or herself in his or her home country and shows that he or she likes to live here. In your own house or garden, at striking sights, outside in nature or in a church. The children and young people show places that are particularly beautiful and important to them. They also show part of their personality. That makes the videos unique and particularly valuable. The creativity of many of the contributions is also admirable. Whether in the open-air enclosure for rabbits, in the horse stable or on a bench with a view of the Hohenbogen, people sang and made music in a wide variety of places.

The Stanglmeier Foundation is convinced that this is the right answer to the restrictions. The video campaign is a great way to reach young artists. The diverse contributions prove that the young people want to show their skills. If not on stage, then at least in video clips.
